2015 Gosford Art Prize and Ceramic Prize

This is the sixteenth year that the Gosford Art Prize has been held at the Gosford Regional Gallery.

Pamela Honeyfield won the $15,000. 2015 Gosford Art Prize with her work ‘Dusk Falls Across The Flinders’ – Oil on Canvas – H153cm x W122cm –  $4,600.

Pamela also won the $10,000. 2014 Gosford Art Prize. (back to back winner)

Judge’s Comments: by Brenda Croft

“I selected Pamela’s work for First Prize as this painting kept drawing me back time and again. The palette placed me in the Flinders at dusk, experiencing that fading late afternoon/early evening light, under those endless skies of the inland. The enervating heat of the day is starting to lessen, bringing slight relief and anticipation of the evening sweep of stars. Moody, enticing, confident use of colour and texture.”

Sharon Candy – Solo Show

image 22

“Painting to me is not what is seen but what is foreseen by the heart”

My artworks are inspired by surroundings, particularly destinations locally and abroad. The artworks are in a softer more personal palette with the continual exploration of form, line, light and colour. The artworks depicting contemporary landscapes that are naturally familiar and spontaneous. My techniques and process are driven by the progress and elements within my work. The landscapes develop slowly, evolving through the grain of the board as well as the medium to produce compositions full of my love of nature and colour. Depth of compositions and artwork evolves through the brush work and charcoal. The thickness of acrylic in some cases producing the attitude and environment of the subject. Through line, form and texture the subjects or scenes come to life. MOBILE: 0413 412 865.
